Can Too is excited to announce that a COVID-safe Sydney Ocean Swim program will take place this year.
COVID-19 has had a hand in many changes over the past six months which Can Too is no stranger to. Through careful planning and implementation, we have established COVID-safe run training in small groups with our Run into Spring program. Through that experience, we have gained much knowledge which will help us to plan the best ocean swim program we can.
There are many aspects to the upcoming programs which will be familiar to past participants, however there are bound to be a few differences. You’ll still be training with your Can Too friends at some of the most beautiful beaches in Sydney, whilst building fitness and ocean skills which fund Australian cancer researchers.
We are COVID-safe accredited and are regularly reviewing our approach, planning and programs to ensure we are protecting the health and safety of the Can Too community. As a part of our COVID-safe plan, we will be training in smaller groups. This will enable physical distancing without taking up the whole beach.
We are looking at all options to provide the best ocean swim experience that we can while maintaining a healthy and safe environment for all Can Too participants and the broader community. That means that you’ll see some new pool options alongside some of our favourites. It may also mean some pools previously offered will not be available.
Registration will open on Tuesday 22 September for the 14-week training program so please save the date and training will begin in the second week of November.
At the time of writing, dates for The Big Swim at Palm Beach and the North Bondi Classic, our traditional goal events, have not yet been confirmed.
We look forward to welcoming you at the pool and the beach in November!
You can register for the program from 22 September.
We will reward you with 25 per cent off your fundraising commitment for each first-time participant that nominates you when they sign up to the Sydney Learn to Ocean Swim training program. Learn more.
