Theresa O'Halloran

Sydney Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 9km Sydney 2015

Three weeks to go!

So, with three weeks until the big day, how I am going? Good, I reckon! I'm really starting to like this running business. The Wednesday interval training is brutal, but it makes the Friday long lunch runs (9km this week) feel like a breeze. I've managed to keep pace (literally and figuratively) with the group, despite work commitments one week, and a small side trip to Tahiti another. In fact, this weekend just gone, I ran the 8km to and from my personal training session. It's great to know the money is going to a good cause, and all my sponsors are keeping me accountable. I can't recommend this program, or this cause highly enough. And, it's sooooo much easier than Dry July. Cheerio, T.

only a few days until training starts....

Wow!  I can't believe so many people have donated to see me complete this run. Rather humbling..... Thank You  to everyone.

Its ts only a few days until training begins, and it is fair to say im a little nervous. About training? Yep. Meeting new people? Yep. About having to brave the work change rooms twice a week? Yep. Yep. Yep. But, I figure braving the feral work change rooms is still a lot easier than taking on cancer.

Everytime I think I have bitten off more than I can chew, I think of my nephew, Martin, and his battle to the end with Ewings Sarcoma (bone cancer), and my brother, Peter, and his battle with (the possibly related) astrocytoma (brain cancer). It sounds trite, but when I think of these two I am able to tell myself to suck it up, and get on with it. And get on with it I will!

So, training starts this Wednesday..... Wish me luck.... And I'll keep you all posted!

I'm training with Can Too for the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 9km!

I am training for an event with Can Too, a health promotion organisation that engages and inspires individuals and the community to achieve personal health, wellbeing and altruistic goals.

Beginners and experienced athletes alike are given professional coaching as part of a team to run or swim in endurance events- including 10km, half-marathon and marathon runs; as well as ocean swims and triathlons.

In return, I am raising valuable funds that go towards innovation in the prevention, care and control of cancer. In 2014, our Can Too community has supported 19 early career researchers through Cure Cancer Australia.

Thank you for supporting me!

‘It’s so much fun and I can’t believe I’m going to achieve this goal that I never thought possible. A great program and team support is making it possible. You Can Too!’

Thank you to my Sponsors
