To finish last first you must finish
The swim round Shark Island was a definite challenge for me. A little over a year ago the idea of swimming 50m was impossible so I'm bloody proud of myself. Ended up about 2.8km what with the drift and my poor sighting. Got a few stings and a fair bit of sun burn. Official time was 1 hour 22 mins. That placed me dead last by a country mile and all I can think is how good is that! I FINISHED!!! Thank you so much for all those who sponsored me and helped raising much needed funds for Cancer research. There is more to be done so I'm off to Bondi on Sunday for round 2 with the North Bondi Classic. If you are around keep an eye out for me. I'll be the grinning madman up the back. Way up the back and I couldn't be happier.Picture perfect swim
Flat as. Visibility great. No stingers and a zillion fish. Followed up with brunch at a new place. 1.8km added to the training scheduleWinter training is done. It's action time.
The CanToo Winter swim squads is done and dusted. Next challenge is the Palm Beach to Whale Big Swim in January. 2.8KM around the never ending headlands. What on earth was I thinking!42KM swum so far since July

2KMs does sound that far when you say it like that!
I'm supporting cancer research and prevention with Can Too Foundation.
1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This means that potentially someone we love may have to battle cancer, and that's a statistic that needs to change.
So I asked myself, "what can I do to help?" That's where the Can Too Foundation came in! Can Too provides professionally coached training programs for participants of any fitness level to run, swim and cycle their way to a healthier lifestyle and a cancer-free world.
In return, I am raising valuable funds that go towards innovation in the prevention, care, and control of cancer. Since 2005, Can Too Foundation has trained over 18,000 participants and raised over $25,000,000 to invest in over 200 one-year cancer research grants.
It would be fantastic if you could sponsor me, or even better join me in a program!
Thank you for your support!
