Summer 2023/24

Whislt I'm not doing a program this summer as I will be away travelling for much of the Ocean Swimming program, I continue to be involved in fundraising for Can Too.
Last weekend there was the fabulous recycled clothing sale at West Pymble Community Hall and as usual I've made Christmas Puddings for some regular customers.
Being involved in Can Too since 2019 has had a huge impact on my life and lifestyle.
I love swimming and have discovered that when travelling I can join other ocean swimming groups around the county - its a great way to meet some locals.
And the kayaking program last summer increased my skills and confidence on top of the water.

Lockdown Marmalade .... flying out the door

For the first year EVER our lemon, lime and orange trees produced an abundance of fruit. And so the marmalade making began.

With so many jars produced I decided to try and sell then as a fundraiser. Mikes swimming squad were the first customers but then lockdown hit. Thanks to my book club buddies for their purchases during this time.

Friends have also donated from their lime and grapefruit trees to add to the product range.

Thank you everyone for your support.

I'm supporting cancer research and prevention with Can Too Foundation.

1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This means that potentially someone we love may have to battle cancer, and that’s a statistic that needs to change.

Can Too provide professionally coached training programs for participants – of any fitness level – to run, swim and cycle their way to a healthier lifestyle and a cancer-free world.

Since 2005, Can Too Foundation have trained over 15,000 participants, raised over $21,000,000 to invest in 168 one-year cancer research grants

After watching from a distance, in 2019 I registered for the 1km Ocean Swimming Program. I got so much out of it - not only at a personal level, but also in raising money for a great cause, Cancer Research.

And so I returned in November 2020 for the 2km program and achieved the goal -  completing the 2.8km Big Swim from Palm to Whale Beach.

My main fundraiser that year was 'Pudding Club' - this was so successful and way exceeded expectations that I was able to start raising funds against my next Can Too event via a Future Goal Fund.

I can't do the program this summer but continue to train and swim with others I've met on the way. I'm entering events on the Ocean Swimming program this summer including the Big Swim. This years goal is to do it quicker.

Thank you for your support,

Beverly
