
With our Summer Ocean Swim Program, we'll help you achieve a 1km or 2.5km ocean swim!

14 weeks with 12 weeks of coached sessions (due to Christmas holidays)
What's included in this 12 week program: 2x face-to-face training sessions a week (1 in the pool, 1 in the ocean) led by one of our experienced and professional CanToo Coaches.
FREE swimming gear when you sign up.
Train in a fun and friendly environment with a group of like-minded individuals.
While you challenge yourself, challenge cancer too by raising $1,200 to support our ongoing work, including the funding of early-career cancer researchers.

Please note: Your CanToo program fee covers coaching and admin costs. Pool entry is not covered as part of your program fee. My Fitness Passports cannot be used to gain entry to pools for any CanToo programs. Payment must be made at the pool upon entry. If you plan to take part in an official event, event entry is payable separately through the relevant event website.

The following Pods will have their Saturday sessions at Bondi Beach (mild-medium surf conditions). Please see below for Saturday timings.
Prince Alfred Park Pool Pods available:
- Wednesdays: 6:15pm - 7:45pm & Saturdays: 8am - 9:15am
- Fridays: 6am - 7:15am & Saturdays: 8am - 9:15am
Andrew "Boy" Charlton Pods available:
- Mondays: 6:15pm - 7:45pm & Saturdays: 8am - 9:15am
UNSW Fitness & Aquatic Centre Pods available:
- Tuesdays: 6am - 7:15am & Saturdays: 9:15am - 10:30am
Victoria Park Pool Pods available:
- Tuesdays: 6:15pm - 7:45pm & Saturdays: 9:15am - 10:30am
MONA VALE BEACH
The following Pods will have their Saturday sessions at Mona Vale Beach (medium surf conditions). Saturday timings vary depending on your goal distance:
- 1km swimmers: 8:30am - 9:45am
- 2.5km swimmers: 9:30am - 10:45am
Warringah Aquatic Centre Pods available:
- Tuesdays: 6:30pm - 8pm
- Tuesdays: 7:30pm - 9pm
Narrabeen Swim Academy Pods available:
- Tuesdays: 6:30pm - 8pm
Lane Cove Aquatic Leisure Centre Pods available:
- Thursdays: 6:30pm - 8pm
The following Pods will have their Saturday sessions at Manly Beach (mild-medium surf conditions). Saturday timings vary depending on your goal distance:
- 1km swimmers: 8:45am - 10am
- 2.5km swimmers: 9:45am - 11am
Aqua Culture Swim Centre Pods available:
- Wednesdays: 8:15am - 9:30am (1km)
- Wednesdays: 6:45pm - 8:30pm (2.5km)
- Thursdays: 6pm - 7:30pm (2.5km)
- Thursdays: 7pm - 8:30pm (1km)
NEWPORT BEACH
The following Pods will have their Saturday sessions at Newport Beach (medium surf conditions) from 9am - 10am.

ELOUERA BEACH
The following Pods will have their Saturday sessions at Elouera Beach (medium surf conditions) from 8am - 10am.
Engadine Leisure Centre Pods available:
- Mondays: 6:15pm - 7:45pm
- Tuesdays: 6:15pm - 7:45pm
Our Summer Ocean Swim Program will train you for the following events, where CanToo staff will be in attendance on the day, cheering you on! You can choose to take part in 1, 2 or all 3 events - whatever you feel comfortable with!

3. North Bondi Classic, Bondi Beach - 8 February 2026

What can I expect during my training sessions?
Your pool sessions will typically focus on:
- Refreshing your swim skills
- Building base swimming fitness
- Learning how to swim more efficiently
- Practicing basic ocean swimming techniques
- Drills for stroke correction
Your beach sessions will typically focus on:
- Identifying changing ocean conditions (waves, rips, tides, sandbanks etc.)
- Learning to enter and exit the water safely
- Increasing your swim distance in the ocean under supervision
- Learning advanced surf skills and using the ocean to your advantage
Do I need to fundraise?
Yes! When you sign up to our Summer Ocean Swim Program, you are making a commitment to raise $1,200 throughout your journey with us. These funds are so vital to ensure we can continue our work, from our fitness programs to funding crucial cancer research that is changing and saving lives.
How much does it cost to take part?
To take part in our Summer Ocean Swim Program, you will need to pay a program fee of $399 upfront at registration. This covers the cost of all your training, and we think it's quite the deal!
What if I don't hit my fundraising target?
If you're concerned about hitting your fundraising target, don't worry! We will be here every step of the way with tips and tricks to help you reach your goal. Plus, your fellow CanToo-ers that you'll be training with will also be able to share inspiration for fundraising.
We suggest getting yourself started with a self-donation - it'll get you on your way and make your target feel all the more achieveable!
