Sydney Ocean Swim, Registrations opening soon!

26 Jul 2018

Warm your winter with some summer news.

Last year's Sydney Ocean Swim broke all our records.  We supported 416 people to face their fears and learn to ocean swim, fundraising an incredible $628,091 for cancer research and prevention.

And it’s nearly that time of year again!!!

Registrations open Friday 31 August.

Our recent community survey showed ocean swimming is our most sought-after experience. Last season, most of our pools were waitlist-only in the first month of registrations opening, and we finished up with less than 5 spaces available across the whole of Sydney.

We're adding 50 ocean swimming spaces.

This is the first of many announcements in the coming months, about how we’re taking action to better serve and grow our community.

The downside to creating Sydney’s most successful learn to ocean swim program, is finding enough of the right type of qualified coaches and water safety crew, to make sure we’re offering the extraordinarily supportive and safe experiences we’re famous for.

We’re taking a season off Triathlon.

I know some will be disappointed that Triathlon is taking a season off, but last year we turned away more beginner ocean swimmers than the number of beginner triathletes we trained.

Can Too Triathlon is not cancelled – it will definitely be back in 2020.

Win a registration. Share your story.

We have two registrations to give away to our ocean swimming alumni for the upcoming Sydney Ocean Swim. All you have to do is share your story and help us inspire others to face their fears this summer.

Tell us in 500 words or so (email: about the emotional rollercoaster you went through learning to ocean swim. We want to hear about your experience, and use it to inspire others to face their fears in support of cancer research and prevention, in our blog 8 Emotions of Learning to Ocean Swim

Winners will be announced the morning of Friday 31 August, ready for this year’s registrations opening!
