I'm training with Can Too for the 2/2.5km Ocean Swim!
Ironically, two days after I signed up to train with Can Too for the 2.5km Ocean swim, I was diagnosed with my own cancer.
I had a 3mm mole on my back that was diagnosed as a Stage 2 melanoma. Luckily for me it was caught at an early stage and was removed in a second surgery and will be healed in time for me to start training for my swim.
Being only 22 years of age, it was quite a hard hit on the head and made me realise how easy cancer can affect anyone at any time.
This has made my eperience with Can Too a whole lot closer to home and not only will I be training to swim the event, but also hopefully raise more money for cancer research and make people realise how easily this disease can affect anyone.
