Please help me raise money for cancer whilst getting fitter for myself and my beautiful little family!
Monday 16th FebSo, dearest family and friends, here's the deal...
I have totally lost the plot in the "new mum", sleep deprived state that I'm in and thought it would be a splendid idea to go and run a half marathon (in my "spare time")! WHAT THE!? you ask? Yes, that's right, I'm seriously going to die :-). But, it's for a few extremely good reasons.
Firstly, I am training for an event with Can Too, a health promotion organisation that engages and inspires individuals and the community to achieve personal health, wellbeing and altruistic goals. Beginners (definitely me) and experienced athletes alike are given pofessional coaching as part of a team to run or swim in endurance events - including 10km, half-marathon and marathon runs; as well as ocean swims and triathlons. In return, I am raising valuable funds that go towards innovation in the prevention, care and control of cancer.
Secondly, I'm sick and tired of being overweight and I hate it! As many of you may know, I have had some health issues over the past few years and although a lot of them were completely out of my control, I want to be as healthy as I can from now on to prevent anything getting worse again...especially if we are gonna try for bub number 2. I also want my gorgeous little man growing up with a fit and healthy Mum who can keep up with him when he starts getting mobile...which isn't far away!
Last but not least, I would really like to keep my job, and need to be able to pass my fitness test when I return to work sometime after July...I REALLY don't want to wash dishes for money.
