From the park run organisers:
"Congratulations on completing your 1st parkrun and your 1st at St Peters parkrun today. You finished in 124th place and were the 15th female out of a field of 340 parkrunners and you came 2nd in your age category SW20-24"
Half way point
Wednesday 19th Aug
I have been pretty slack with blog posts for the first half of this program (lets say its due to my intense focus on training!!!!)..
Training has been going well. We have been training on track at ES Marks every wednesday night, and doing a long run on Saturday mornings at Centennial Park.
I'll update the blog now weekly. I'll backdate some photos as proof that I'm working hard for your money!!
I'm training with Can Too for the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival!
Tuesday 21st JulI am training for an event with Can Too, a health promotion organisation that engages and inspires individuals and the community to achieve personal health, wellbeing and altruistic goals.
CanToo provides training to both beginners and experienced athletes to run or swim in endurance events. In return, participants pledge to raise funds for Cure Cancer Australia.
I have pledged to raise at least $800.
This program has allowed me to combine some key goals for 2015:
- Do something new (like compete in a run...)
- Be physically and emotionally healthy (we train twice a week)
- Give back
In 2015, CanToo have sponsored 14 Early Career Researchers in cancer research.
