Support our community and our innovative early-career cancer researchers today
Can you help us keep more people in Australia healthy and happy for longer, and prevent future cancer diagnoses?
Last year, around 3 in 10 deaths in Australia were estimated to be due to cancer.* And roughly 1 in 2 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetimes.
Here at CanToo, we're devoted to helping keep people healthy with our variety of training programs, and by funding young and aspiring early-career cancer researchers.

Boosting research into ovarian cancer
Dr Laura Moffitt is a newly funded researcher by CanToo, thanks to supporters like you. Dr Moffitt and her team have identified a specialised group of ovarian cancer cells called "leader cells" that are responsible for the aggressive spread of the cancer. Dr Moffitt's funded project aims to identify treatments to target these cells, to ultimately help slow down the spread of cancer and improve the effectiveness of current therapies.
Most deaths from ovarian cancer are due to the spread of the disease (metastasis) and the cancer becoming resistant to chemotherapy, resulting in less than a 30% survival rate when the cancer is diagnosed in its advanced stages, making projects like this so important.

Support CanToo's ongoing health promotion work
Throughout the year, we offer a range of training programs for our community to get involved in. We are advocates for keeping people fit and healthy, through challenging yourself, all while challenging cancer too.
From ocean swimming, to running 5km's or marathons, we are always thrilled to see the ambition and enthusiasm of new and returning CanToo-ers who want to achieve a personal goal. Here at CanToo, we are with you every step of the way.
Ultimately, our programs are made possible thanks to the donations and support of our community. Your donation could help us to continue and grow our work in this area, keeping more people in Australia fit and healthy for longer.

Progressing research for children with brain cancer
Prof David Ziegler has shown in previous research that a specific molecular pathway is overactive in aggressive childhood brain cancer and may be a promising target for treatment.
In this new, CanToo funded project, Prof Ziegler will use samples from the most aggressive childhood brain tumours to determine whether a new drug combination can switch off this overactive molecular pathway and stop cancer progression. He will also assess the effectiveness of this drug combination alongside chemotherapy and other current treatments to see if this improves their success.
Your donation could help fund new research projects to help find new solutions to cancer, just like this one.
