Words cannot describe the loss of a great mate. Pete loved life and made the most of everyday. He lived life for his family and to the fullest. How many Marathoners, Triathletes and ocean swimmers have there been - Pete was so proud of his super human efforts. He only ever had the best interests of everyone he ever met. His fight against this disease was so inspiring always putting on his best fight. Despite this he still enjoyed our walks and coffee afterwards. I miss you mate. We shared many laughs - gone from this world but never forgotten. Until we meet again I will dedicate a cheeky Big Mac to you every now and then. Such an inspiration. I have told many people about this amazing man and his incredible dedication to reaching the finish line. It was a pleasure to run the Queenstown Marathon with him and be part of the huge crowd cheer as he came over the line. Condolences to family, friends and team mates.

Pete was an absolute inspiration and legend. I remember his determination and the magic of his inspiring sprint finish in Queenstown in 2017, how this totally touched us all
