Start spreading the news - 'I'm training with Can Too for the New York Marathon!'
NEW YORK, NEW YORK!!
That's right, as the song suggests, please start spreading the news…..I'm not leaving tonight, but in early November and I am very excited and apprehensive.
My second marathon with 'Can Too' and my first outside of Sydney. The race itself is on November 6th, but I've convinced Nige that I need to get there early to prepare (Macy's, Bloomingdales, Time Square etc.). Obviously very disappointed that I can't take him and the kids with me - or at least that's the party line I'm planning to hold - but there is definitely a part of me that is very excited about everything this bucket-list opportunity brings.
As with all of my big runs to-date though, I'm running for a cause and my journey with the Can Too Foundation continues to inspire, reward and surprise me. If you're willing and able to support my marathon effort again this time round, then please follow the link below.
In previous years, my plea for support has been brimming over with emotion because I was running with my Mum in mind. Wind forward the several thousand steps incumbent in training for 4 or 5 half marathons and now my second marathon and suffice to say I now run with my Mum in my heart (always!) rather than in my mind.
