Thanks to all the people who keep us safe in the ocean....

This is Brenno...he's one of the fabulous surf life savers on the Northern Beaches that give up their time to keep us safe. I'm a slow swimmer and often alone at the back of the pack but there is always someone like Brenno keeping an eye (he's helped me two years in a row)

Same thing for the Can Too water safety group...they are there every week calming us down, encouraging us and making us laugh...They all deserve a major shoutout and many many thanks

Halfway with this fabulous group!

We're halfway through this year's summer program ... and am I ready for a 2.8 metre swim? Did plenty of 2k swims last year but sometimes, you lose a little mojo and gain a little fear..So I'm back with Can Too to not only improve my swimming technique but to get some of my fearlessness back. The Palm to Whale swim is a big one and last year I participated but had to be IRB'd part way when conditions got bad and my speed might not have got me home in time! So it's in front of me again...I'm registered and training...and still loving the water....so as Dory says...". just keep swimming!

I'm supporting cancer research and prevention with Can Too Foundation.

1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This means that potentially someone we love may have to battle cancer, and that's a statistic that needs to change.

So I asked myself, "what can I do to help?" That's where the Can Too Foundation came in! Can Too provides professionally coached training programs for participants of any fitness level to run, swim and cycle their way to a healthier lifestyle and a cancer-free world.

In return, I am raising valuable funds that go towards innovation in the prevention, care, and control of cancer. Since 2005, Can Too Foundation has trained over 22,000 participants and raised over $30,000,000 to invest in over 150 cancer research grants.
