Trash Talking Orange Army is going DOWN!
Wednesday 16th DecAs much as we appreciate the $50 donation from Lizzie and the Orange Army, their recent trash-talking blog was a pathetic attempt to fire up the Monthly Swimmers. Frankly, it was like being flogged with a wet lettuce. You've got nothin. Except the ability to hide behind what will no doubt be an outrageous handicap and throw powder puffs at a group of elite athletes. Can Too is going DOWN!

It's On Again: Monthly Swimmers v Can Too Relay!!
Wednesday 11th NovAfter last years's defeat in the 10 x 25m relay, the Monthly Swimmers are out for revenge! We'll be taking on the Can Too crew at Monte Pool on a Wed night still to be confirmed. In doing so, we'll be donating $1000 ourselves to the Can Too Foundation to assist with the fundraisng goal of the swimming programme this season. More details to follow!

THANKS!!!
Monday 15th DecWell we did it!
The Monthly Swimmers Chopper Squad smashed its target thanks to the generous donations of our amazing sponsors. We suffered an extra week of public humiliation as all moustaches were required to be in attendance at the Xmas Swim on Friday Dec 5th! A week of explaining that yes, November was over, but we needed to keep the growth for an extra week was pure embarassment! Some of the photos from the last night are at the end of the Gallery.
With matching grants from benevolent employees we will exceed $18K all up - enough to sponsor the North Pod of Can Too and provide extra directly to cancer research. All up this should translate to around $100K raised - once the Can Tooers complete their programme.
Congratulations to the Chopper Squad and thanks again to all our generous donors!
Cheers

President

WE WUZ ROBBED!!!
Thursday 27th NovThe Monthly Swimmers Chopper Squad descended upon Monte Pool last night to reek havoc on the North Can Too brigade. This is the large group we are supporting who will raise in the order of $100K between them for cancer research in Australia. They are all training for an ocean swim - many for the first time. We challenged them to a 10 x 25m relay. We left the handicapping to coach Jon Bell and the dastardly deed was done. As the Great Man ADV took the blocks he was informed the Can Too team had a 43 second headstart. Yes folks - 43 seconds! The Chopper Squad fought hard and we pegged them back at every turn with great swims from all - Donny Richmond, Batesy, Weeds, Philthy Phil Vivian, Apples, Invisible Chris Allen, Buck and Big Carl Wilson. But alas it was a bridge too far for anchorman Mean Machine Rench and the Can Tooers slipped in by a couple of bodylengths!! There was plenty of enthusiastic cheering for the local team as they took great pleasure in our demise. We immediately retired to the Rag and Famish across the road for a a few beers and Parmigiana from which we may never recover! A great night and well done boys! Jon Bell has become the Neville Bloody Bartos of swim coaching. You know what to do.
Cheers

Chopper Squad ready for action!
Saturday 22nd NovThe boys are firing up! Stache growth is looking solid and plenty of handle bars taking shape. Everyone is pushing through the itch/ public humiliation/ divorce barrier!
Our fundraising is on track - thanks to everyone's amazing support - but still a way to go before we hit our target. Thank you!
We will be sponsoring the North Pod of Can Too for this season's Swim programme. We have assembled a team known as the "Chopper Squad" who will visit the Can Too pod this Wednesday night. We have challenged them to a relay swim. 10 men resembling the biker from the Village People will descend upon them. We have called them out and plan to deliver a Chopper Read style pistol whipping!
Stay tuned!

Hi Monthly Swimmers, Two months ago my dad was diagnosed by Kidney cancer. One week later his right kidney was removed and he is going to go under another operation in a month - this time on his bladder. Its been a really sad experience for my family and we hope one day there will be cure for all types of cancers. I just wanted to thank you all for the great effort in raising money for such an important cause. Thank you Philip Vivian for letting me be a small part of it. Regards Sahar
