Training Information

Run the trail run of your life! This 14 week program provides all the professional coaching and support you need to achieve a goal you never thought possible, and fundraise for cancer research! Mid week sessions will include a variety of three types of sessions; hills, track and stairs incorporating the below:

  • Running form
  • Breathing technique
  • Core strength
  • Injury prevention
  • Strength work

On Saturdays we do a ‘long run’ either on trail or the road, and the distance or time increases as the program progresses. Coaches at this distance session will focus on:

  • Pacing and race strategy
  • Distance “in your legs”
  • Mental focus
  • Running form
  • Building up endurance

Occasionally a Guest Speaker will engage the group with professional advice on nutrition, injury prevention or goal setting. You will get to hear first hand from those who have experienced cancer and be encouraged to fundraise by researchers at the forefront of cancer research in Australia. Follow our specific day by day training guide which outlines what you should be doing every day to help you be your very best on race day – suggestions include yoga, spin classes and cross training.

Important Information

What level of running experience do I need?
Anyone can join! The Can Too training program is professionally based and structured to ensure that people of all levels of fitness and experience can participate – however, we recommend you are able to run at least 10km and that you start strength training as soon as possible prior to the program to prepare your body for trail running. Strength training includes; stairs, squats, lunges, single leg lunges, clams, planks, side planks, sit ups and press ups.

The coaches are motivational and the journey is addictive as members develop new friends, share experiences and have fun. The team environment is a vital component in helping you to feel motivated, inspired and supported.
