Well officially it is Week 3, but I have started late... so this is me and Roy's second swimming week. Yesterday we had another pool session and I was constantly thinking "What did I get myself into" - my stamina really needs some support and my muscles already hurt when I got out of the pool, not even mentioning how I was feeling this morning... aaah... but it really makes me smile. There must be something about the chlorine, that makes me really happy... but probably it is just the movement - or all the breathing mistakes I am doing, coughing, swollowing water, feeling it in my ear and forgetting the rhythm I was trying hard to keep
Tomorrow morning, we will have another session in Clovelly in the ocean - wooohoooo! It is supposed to rain again, but we will be wet anyway, so thats not a reason not to go!
Lets start some donations, people! 7 weeks to go, I will certainly be a pro by then ;-)
Let's do it!
Very spontaneous decision this morning.... we only wanted to get some brekky in Clovelly... but then we saw all these swimmers - we googled it and were excited right away!
I am a bit scared about this big commitment (both, the training twice a week AND the fundraising) but at the same time did I always want to improve my swim skills and learn to swim in the ocean, especially living by the ocean for the first time in my life!! Doing that while supporting cancer research and prevention in Australia at the same time makes it even better!
I'm supporting cancer research and prevention with Can Too Foundation.
1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This means that potentially someone we love may have to battle cancer, and that’s a statistic that needs to change.
So I asked myself, “what can I do to help?” That’s where the Can Too Foundation came in! Can Too provide professionally coached training programs for participants – of any fitness level – to run, swim and cycle their way to a healthier lifestyle and a cancer-free world.
In return, I am raising valuable funds that go towards innovation in the prevention, care, and control of cancer. Since 2005, Can Too Foundation have trained over 15,000 participants, raised over $21,000,000 to invest in 168 one-year cancer research grants.
It would be fantastic if you could sponsor me, or even better join me in a program!
Thank you for your support!
