I'm training with Can Too for the Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon!
Well it has been a while, two years in fact, but I am finally back in the swing of distance running! I have once again joined the Mighty Mac Uni pod of Cantoo with a terrific bunch of people to train for the Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon on Sunday 21 May. (Unfortunately, the previous two programs I started I had to leave due to injury and then illness....not this time!)
We actually started training 7 weeks ago, but time and busy-ness with work have stopped me getting my act together to promote this!
For those who don't know, Cantoo is an inspirational organisation which helps fund cancer research. Over the past 12 years they have raised an incredible $17 million for just that purpose.
As the weeks pass, the run distances increase, the intensity ramps up and the pain, (good pain) makes you feel alive! And you realise how privileged you are to be able to run, when people going through the trauma of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and the associated side effects, are not able. That's what motivates me and I hope it motivates you to back me! A few dollars would be greatly appreciated, it all helps and goes to the cause of finding a cure for cancer.
Thanks very much in advance. (for more info go to: cantoo.org.au/about)
