Train with your squad

... and help us beat cancer!

About this program

This five-week swim squad is for those who want to train with the Can Too Community and continue to improve their freestyle swimming ability.

There is no need to fundraise or commit to a goal event. There will be no Team Captain or Mentor, just swimming with other Can Too'ers under the guidance of a professional Can Too Coach.

The weekly squad session is open to swimmers of a wide variety of abilities, from intermediate to advanced.

Please note, entry to the Port Macquarie Olympic Pool is not included in your registration fee.

To join this program, you must:

  • Be able to swim 500m freestyle in under 15 minutes
  • Be keen to learn and improve

Training format

You'll train once per week in the pool under the guidance of a qualified, experienced swim coach.

Swim sessions focus on:

  • reinforcing efficient swimming techniques
  • building swim endurance and speed
  • practising swim techniques
  • improving stroke correction.

No Fundraising Required

There is no fundraising requirement for this five-week squad, however, donations are welcome.

Should you choose to run a raffle, sell some sausages or busk on the street, all funds raised will support Australian cancer research and prevention.

Be a part of something bigger than yourself

I never realised how significant Can Too would be, how important it was to have an outlet, away from our life which was all about cancer and searching for treatments.

Can Too helped me to not just stay physically fit but mentally strong. We lived by a mantra we adopted with our Can Too program – ‘just keep swimming’.

It resonates with me how Can Too’s fundraising goes to a cause close to my late wife's heart. They’re still looking for answers for the type of cancer that she had. Without research there isn’t much hope.
