Since Can Too began in 2005, nearly $4,000,000 has been raised - a phenomenal effort!!!

Professor Martin Tattersall, Chairman, CCAF Medical Grants Advisory Committee:

"Successful researchers need commitment and an ability to think laterally and cross-fertilise ideas.  Above all, they need mentoring and support."

That’s the view of Professor Martin Tattersall, Chairman of Cure Cancer Australia’s Medical Grants Advisory Committee, and he should know.  After three decades of work in clinical and cancer research, the Professor of Cancer Medicine at the University of Sydney has mentored some truly exceptional researchers.  A renowned advocate of young cancer investigators, Professor Tattersalll acknowledges that the more support researchers get when they’re young, the more likely they are to have great ideas. “Most brilliant ideas occur before you’re 40,” he points out, “which is why I’m so supportive of Cure Cancer Australia’s concept.”

Hi Viive,

I just wanted to thank you for coming out to Macquarie Uni last Thursday
night and talking about your research and how the Cure Cancer Australia grants assist.  There are so many people that have been mentioning how great it was to hear about the research you are performing and how the money they are raising is helping to support such research.  It really struck a chord with many people and a number have mentioned you in their fundraising emails or whilst talking to others - and the money is rolling in!  I just wanted to mention this to you so that you are aware of the positive impact that your talks have on our Can Too participants.  Thanks so much for taking the time to share your story - and it was great to catch up with you!
