More about Cure Cancer Australia
Cure
Cancer Australia Foundation has been funding cancer and leukaemia
research programs since it began 39 years ago. Until 2002 Cure Cancer
Australia Foundation was the Leo & Jenny Leukaemia and Cancer
Foundation. Both Leo & Jenny died of leukaemia and their families
established trusts to fight leukaemia and cancer by raising funds to
support research and treatment programs.
Cure Cancer Australia aims to be Australia’s leading independent
foundation for cancer research. We fund the critical early work of
brilliant investigators searching for cures for cancers. We have funded
grants across all areas of cancer research, including children’s
cancers, breast, bowel, skin, prostate, thyroid and bladder cancers and
leukemia.
Our vision is a world without cancer, nothing less
To
date, more than $8.9 million has been allocated to individual research
projects attached to cancer research institutes, teaching hospitals and
university medical faculties in New South Wales, Australia. Cure Cancer
Australia raises funds through our innovative approach to fundraising
and with the support of valued corporate and individual donors. Each
year funds raised go directly to brilliant young researchers to enable
them to pursue their potential breakthrough research for a period of
one year.
The researchers are based in Australia’s leading medical research
institutes such as Children’s Cancer Institute Australia, Children’s
Medical Research Institute, Garvan Institute of Medical Research ,
Centenary Institute, Westmead Millennium Institute, Kolling Institute
of Medical Research as well as teaching hospitals and university
medical faculties.
Cure Cancer Australia is proud to have been selected as Can Too’s partner.
