$4 Million Dollars Raised
Dear Can Too Board Members,
It is with excitement and pleasure I write to inform you that Can Too has just reached its 4 million dollar milestone!!!!
Since its inception in 2005 Can Too has now trained over 3000 people.
2010 brings new excitement as we continue to grow Sydney and Melbourne and launch in Brisbane in March.
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to working with you in my role at Can Too and as a board member of Cure Cancer Australia.
Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro - the world's highest free standing mountain
In early January, Savanna and Ian will climb Mt Kilimanjaro (20,000 ft - 5,985m high) in Tanzania, Africa. They are both expecting it to be the most arduous physical and mental challenge of their lives. Around 60% of all people who attempt the climb don't make it to the summit. The major obstacle (apart from the snow, ice, wind and rain) is Altitude Sickness, which results in blinding headaches & nausea, and is often life-threatening unless the climber is brought down immediately from high altitude.
Since August they have been following a rigorous training program which includes walking tough trails on Sundays for up to 9 hours with 12 kg packs, plus evening workouts through the week.
Their climb's objective (apart from reaching the summit!) is to raise funds for the brilliant researchers at Cure Cancer Australia. Both Savanna and Ian have been touched by cancer – Savanna directly, Ian indirectly. So please support their endeavour and donate to this incredibly valuable and worthwhile cause. Without your support, these Cure Cancer Australia researchers have no chance of making the breakthroughs we need to beat this deadly disease.
