When is training?
Swim 2km or 1km
Training commences on Wednesday, October 26, 2011
12 week training program (one week off over Christmas - 23 Dec until 31 Dec): Raise $1,250 (+ $100 joining fee)

PLEASE NOTE: EACH CAN TOO PARTICIPANT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REGISTERING THEMSELVES IN THEIR GOAL EVENT. MORE INFORMATION ON HOW TO ENTER INTO YOUR GOAL EVENT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU AFTER THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE TRAINING.

What happens at training?
Wednesday Pool Sessions - 1.5 hour:
- Basic instruction for non-experience swimmers. Flippers & a kickboard will be required for these people
- Stroke correction for ALL swimmers to help us swim like Thorpie
- Race specific swim sets for beginners to advanced swimmers
- Lanes of swimming to be graded on ability
- Expert guest speakers talking on a variety of issues
Saturday Surf Session - 1.5 hour:
- Water Safety to make beginners feel confident
- Building up the distance swum to prepare for the big day
- Free shark repellent!!!
Throughout the remainder of the week you will be doing cross training and core strength work to make sure that you have what it takes to reach your goal. This will only take ½ to 1 hour out of your day. It’s that simple! Follow the program for the Swim of Your Life!!
What to Bring:
Given the water temperature in Melbourne you will probably need to purchase a wetsuit for the saturday bay session. Once you register for the program, go to the login section for more details of where to buy and to receive your discount.
