What happens at training:

The Wednesday Night and Tuesday Morning (daytime session) Coaching Workout will go for approximately 1.5 hr - 2hrs.

Each week the Workout will focus on a different area of preparation, such as conditioning, strength or endurance. At both venues, the workout will often be followed by a guest speaker talking about a relevant subject, such as injury prevention, nutrition, motivation, what it is like to experience cancer or the work of Cure Cancer Australia.


On Friday or Saturday morning you can look forward to the long distance runs. These guided weekly runs will progressively increase in distance. We will form smaller running groups within the team, so that you can run with people of similar experience and/or speed.
Throughout the remainder of the week you will be doing cross training and core strength work to make sure that you have what it takes to reach your goal. It’s that simple! Follow the program for the Run of Your Life!!

You will also have online access to the coaches who will be happy to answer your questions or concerns.

When and Where is Training?
You can choose from 6 training programs:
 
1. Eastern Suburbs Training Program:
Training begins:

  • Wednesday at 6:30pm
    • Marathon training begins May 7, 2008 
    • Half Marathon begins June 18, 2008
    • 9km begins July 16, 2008
  • Venue: ES Marks Oval, Boronia St, Kensington
  • Saturday: Distance runs start at 7:30am (8am 9km)
  • Venue: Marathon Training ONLY : Alternates between Centennial Park and Broughton St, Kirribilli every second Saturday
  • Venue: Half Marathon Training: Centennial Park only
  • Venue: 9km Training: Centennial Park only

Please note: We anticipate that numbers for training for the half marathon and 9k program will need to be capped at the eastern suburbs training program. Registrations will be taken on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested in joining Can Too we suggest that you register as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. Once places have filled for the eastern suburbs location - participants will still be given the opportunity to train at either of our two north side program locations.


2. Northern Suburbs Training Program
Training begins:

  • Wednesdays at 6:30pm
    • Marathon begins May 9, 2008,
    • Half Marathon begins June 18, 2008
    • 9km begins July 16, 2008
  • Venue: Chatswood Athletics Field, Corner of Epping Road and Mowbray Road, Chatswood
  • Saturday: Distance Runs start at 7:30am (8am 9km)
  • Venue: Marathon Training ONLY : Alternates between Centennial Park and Broughton St Kirribilli every second Saturday
  • Venue Half Marathon : Broughton St, Kirribilli
  • Venue 9k : Broughton St, Kirribilli

3. Northern Beaches Training Program

  • Wednesdays at 6:30pm
    • Half Marathon begins June 18, 2008
    • 9km begins July 16, 2008
  • Venue: Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, Wakehurst Parkway, Narrabeen
  • Saturday: Distance Runs start at 7:30am (8am 9km)
    • Venue: Mona Vale Beach

4. Macquarie University Training Program

  • Wednesdays at 6:30pm
    • Half Marathon begins June 18, 2008
    • 9km begins July 16, 2008
  • Venue: Macquarie Univeristy  Balaclava Road, North Ryde,
  • Saturday: Distance Runs start at 7:30am (8am 9km)
    • Venue: Macquarie Univeristy  Balaclava Road, North Ryde,

5. Western Suburbs Training Program

  • Wednesdays at 6:30pm
    • Half Marathon begins June 18, 2008
    • 9km begins July 16, 2008
  • Venue: Homebush Atlhletic Centre,
  • Saturday: Distance Runs start at 7:30am (8am 9km)
  • Venue: Shore Line Boulevard and Mary St, Rhodes.

6.  Daytime  NorthTraining Program

Training begins:

  • Tuesdays at 9:00 am
    • Half Marathon begins June 17, 2008
    • 9km begins July 15, 2008
  • Venue: Chatswood Athletics Field, Corner of Epping Road and Mowbray Road, Chatswood and Georges Hieghts Oval, Middle Head ( 5 sessions) when Chatswood unavailable.
  • Friday : Distance Run starts at 9:00 am
  • Venue :  Broughton St, Kirribilli
