About Can Too Run
Can Too run
Can Too is a non-profit program that matches fitness incentives with a good cause! Beginners and experienced athletes alike are given professional coaching as part of a team to run the marathon, half-marathon or 9k event. In return, participants raise sponsorship dollars that go directly towards funding Australian scientists working in cancer research through Cure Cancer Australia. Can Too Run is for people at all fitness and experience levels who are able to train for their goals in a fun, safe and supportive environment. We will not only provide your training schedule but experts give information about nutrition, injury prevention and race strategy, and of course, the work of Cure Cancer Australia Foundation.
Do I have to be a runner?
The Can Too training program is professionally based and structured to ensure that people of all levels of fitness and experience - from novices to seasoned athletes - are well prepared to achieve their personal goal in their chosen endurance event. The coaches are motivational and the journey is addictive as members develop new friends, share experiences and have fun. The team environment is a vital component in helping you to feel motivated, inspired and supported.
What does Can Too give me?
Being part of the Can Too Team gives you:
o A day by day training guide
o Two fun, professionally coached group training sessions a week
o A great group of people to train with
o Fun social get-togethers. The coaches even let you drink beer and wine…
o Fun, fitness and lifestyle change
o Inspirational speakers including champion runners, sports experts, cancer survivor, medical researcher
o The ability to make a difference to your community through funding cancer research
What Can I do for Can Too?
In return for the professional coaching, we will be asking you to raise the following amounts of money:
Run 42km: 20 week training program: Raise $2,000
Run 21km: 14 week training program: Raise $1,250
Run 10km: 10 week training program: Raise $800
Don’t be nervous about achieving your fundraising goal! We will give you tips and ideas to achieve it. Team mates will also share fundraising ideas with you. Half-way through the program we will ask you to recommit to Can Too. You will recommit to achieving your running goal and to having raised half of your funds for Cure Cancer. We must ensure that you have met half of your fundraising goal at this time, as we incur significant costs in delivering the program. As Can Too Run is primarily a fundraising program, one month after your run event, your sponsorship account closes. Any outstanding sponsorship will be charged to your credit card at this time. We would of course discuss this with you first.
This situation rarely occurs because people raise their money!

What happens to the money raised?
This is a non-profit program and all proceeds go to Cure Cancer Australia.
Cure Cancer Australia funds researchers working towards breakthrough cancer research. They provide researchers working in all areas of cancer with funding support at the start of thiers careers.
Funding more research grants each year enables Australia's brightest research talent to secure further funding, build on their ideas and continue their vital work in Australia.
